What I Offer

Therapy

I provide counselling and psychotherapy for children and young people in a safe and supportive environment where they can explore their thoughts, feelings, and life challenges. Whether it’s anxiety, stress, low mood, trauma, grief, low self-esteem, bullying, or issues with relationships and identity, therapy can help young people work through a wide range of emotional, behavioural, and psychological concerns.

Each one to one therapy session lasts 50 minutes.

I understand that every young person is different, so I work closely with them to set clear goals and use the most appropriate techniques to help them develop coping strategies, improve their emotional well-being, and build stronger connections with themselves and others. While therapy is often shorter-term, I’m always transparent about the process and when sessions may come to a natural conclusion—ensuring that therapy is effective and focused on what is needed.

In our time together, children and young people will gain valuable tools to manage their emotions, improve their self-esteem, and handle life’s challenges with greater confidence and resilience

Assessment

Assessment sessions are around 1.5 hours long and will cover a range of topics, including family history, young persons wider life, presenting concerns etc. Both parent/carer and young person are usually involved in the assessment, of course this can depend on family preference and the young persons age.

Throughout the assessment, I will take notes and carefully review the information before providing feedback and recommendations. As this requires reflection, feedback might not be immediate.

If ongoing support is needed, I may offer this through Talk To Rebecca. However, if I feel that your child would benefit from expertise beyond my own, I will signpost you to the appropriate specialist or service to ensure they receive the best possible support.
